لودسل يک مبدل است که نيرو را به يک خروجي قابل اندازه گيري تبديل مي کند. گرچه انواع مختلفي از لودسل ها وجود دارد، بيشتر از لودسل هاي بار مبتني بر strain gage استفاده مي شوند. بجز آزمايشگاه هاي خاصي که تعادل دقيق مکانيکي هنوز مورد استفاده قرار ميگيرند. سلولهاي باربري پنوماتيک گاهي اوقات مورد استفاده قرار مي گيرند که در آن ايمني و بهداشت ذاتي مورد نظر است و سلول هاي هيدروليکي بار در نقاط دور افتاده در نظر گرفته مي شوند، زيرا آنها نيازي به منبع تغذيه ندارند. سلول هاي بارگذاري فشار بار، از لحاظ مقياس 0.03? تا 0.25? دقيق هستند و براي تقريبا تمام برنامه هاي کاربردي صنعتي مناسب هستند.
